Professional Skills

This page includes the skills I have learnt and demonstrated throughout my studies at Curtin University.

Passive Movements

This task involved practising passive movements with an unconscious patient. This was to ensure they're not too stiff once they regain consciousness and to improve blood flow for recovery.

Bed Mobility & Transfer

This task asked us to demonstrate our ability to transfer a patient from lying in bed to standing and back into bed.

Walking Aids

This task involved teaching a client how to use a walking aid to improve mobility and confidence after their operation. This is also a step toward getting the patients ready for discharge.

Goniometry

This task involved measuring the AROM & PROM for knee flexion on a patient. Then, prescribing a repetitive ROM exercise to improve the patient's range of movement in the affected joint.

An infographic on Goniometry is available in RESOURCES.
